29 October 2026 - From Field to Front Door: How Your Christmas Tree Reaches You So Fresh

Most of a Christmas tree's life happens a long way from your living room. It spends the best part of a decade growing on a British farm. The part that decides how fresh it will feel in your home, though, is much shorter: the time between being cut and standing in water. For our trees, that is usually as little as two days. Here is how it works.

Where Are Our Trees Grown?

Our trees are grown by trusted British farmers we have worked with for years. Growers tend and shape each tree season after season, so by the time it is ready it has the full, even outline people look for. A family-sized Premium Nordmann Fir has usually been growing for most of a decade.

When Are the Trees Cut?

We have our trees cut late in the season, close to when they will be delivered. That means the trees reaching you in December have not been cut weeks earlier and left in storage.

What Happens in the Two Days Before Delivery?

  1. Cut on the farm. The tree is cut close to its delivery date.
  2. Collected by our team. Throughout December we go to our growers every day and pick up fresh-cut trees ourselves.
  3. Checked and netted. Each tree is looked over for shape and condition, then netted to protect the branches on the journey.
  4. Delivered to your door. Your tree reaches you as little as two days after cutting, ready to go straight into water.

Why Does Such a Short Gap Matter?

Once a tree is cut, it lives on the water held in its trunk and branches until it is stood in a stand. Every day before then, it draws a little more on that store. A tree that reaches you quickly arrives full of moisture, with supple branches and soft needles that hold well when watered daily.

What Should You Do When It Arrives?

  • Have a water-holding stand ready, such as the Cinco 8 Tree Stand (up to 8ft).
  • Stand the tree and fill the reservoir straight away.
  • Remove the netting and give the branches a few hours to settle.
  • Check the water every morning, especially in the first week.

If you would rather we did the lifting, our Delivery Service includes an optional Tree Prep Service. We will place the tree, take off the netting and make sure it is standing securely.

Christmas Tree Freshness FAQs

Can I order early and still get a fresh tree?

Yes. Ordering early secures your tree and your delivery date, but the tree itself is cut late in the season and collected close to delivery, so it still arrives fresh.

Do you keep large stocks of cut trees?

We collect fresh-cut trees from our growers every day throughout December rather than holding large stocks, which keeps the time between cutting and delivery short.

Can I choose my delivery date?

Yes. Select an available December date when you order, and we will deliver your tree on that day.
