How to Care for Your Fresh Cut Christmas Tree

When a Christmas tree is cut, more than half its weight is water. With proper care, you can maintain the quality of your tree. You need to treat your tree like a living plant, away from a heat source and well watered your tree will stand looking its best through out the festive season. Below are a number of tips on caring for your tree

1. Displaying your tree in one of our water based Christmas Tree Stands is the most effective way of maintaining their freshness and minimises needle dropage.
2. Making a fresh straight cut to the trunk of your tree will ensure the tree to get the appropriate amount of water it needs, about 1/2 inch is all that is needed, our team are happy to do this for your before being delivered. On checkout a drop down menu will give you the option to chose this.
3. If needed, trees can be temporarily stored for several days in a cool location. Place the freshly cut trunk in a bucket that is kept full of water.
4. Keep our Real Christmas tree's away from major sources of heat, the lower the room temperature the slower the drying out process takes therefore keeping it fresh through out the festive period. Fireplaces, heaters, direct sun light etc.
5. Checking the stand daily will be a big help in keeping your tree looking at it's very best. Try to avoid the water level drying up, the first few days your tree will drink the water very fast, this will eventually slow down.
6. If possible use a low heat energy saving light source for your tree this will prevent from drying, Always make sure you turn off your lights before leaving your house/workplace or at the end of the night.
